How To Increase Virtual RAM To Speed Up Computer

What Is Virtual Memory?

Your computer has two types of memory: the hard drive or solid state drive, used for your operating system, photos, music and documents, and RAM, used for storing program specific data. The hard drive is perfect for long-term storage, whilst RAM is much faster and more volatile, acting as a working area for the programs and files you have open & Easily Increase Virtual RAM.

Increase Virtual Ram:-

It is essential to know about the requirement of Virtual Memory as well as RAM Memory for running Windows XP and Windows Vista. Depending on the requirement, the user can increase the performance of their system by increasing RAM Memory. Understanding a few steps that will increase hard drive space is extremely useful; even for a layman, it’s essential to know about hardware application. If the user increases Virtual memory and RAM Memory, he can even upgrade the price of his system. The life of a PC can also be lengthened simply by increasing hard drive space. Other factors related to Increase Virtual Ram in hardware would include the configuration and peripherals.

Virtual memory is extremely useful. If you use all of the RAM available to your system, it will utilize virtual memory – also known as a swap file – to provide a temporary expansion. It does this by using part of the hard-drive memory to effectively expand your RAM. This allows your system to handle more programs than previously available, but the hard-drive memory is much slower than RAM, so performance can suffer

  1. Change button will redirect you to a window where you should follow below steps:

Uncheck checkbox forAutomatically manage paging file size for all drives ‘ and select the radio button of ‘Customize size’ before that you need to select the drive for which you wish to increase the virtual memory. Fill the Initial size and Maximum size for the virtual memory.

If you are not able to decide the maximum or minimum size for virtual memory then refer to bottom of the same window where you can check the recommendation for minimum and maximum size so that you can continue without concerning about size for virtual memory.

  1. Now Just click on ‘OK’ button till you get out of the setting window.

Note: If you decrease the size then you have to restart your computer for the change to take place but if you increase the size then you don’t need to restart the computer.

Now you can enjoy fast processing speed with your large program or can play a game or you can run any other stuff which required more than available memory.

Add more memory

This isn’t a guide to buying hardware that will speed up your computer. But no discussion of how to make Windows run faster would be complete without mentioning that you should consider adding more random access memory (RAM) to your PC.

If a computer running Windows 7 seems too slow, it’s usually because the PC doesn’t have enough RAM. The best way to speed it up is to add more.

Windows 7 can run on a PC with 1 gigabyte (GB) of RAM, but it runs better with 2 GB. For optimal performance, boost that to 3 GB or more.

Another option is to boost the amount of memory by using Windows‌ ReadyBoost. This feature allows you to use the storage space on some removable media devices, such as USB flash drives, to speed up your computer. It’s easier to plug a flash drive into a USB port than to open your PC case and plug memory modules into its motherboard.
